Update (12-28-15): The lining of the coat has ripped along the seam on the inside of the front of the coat. The pocket on the same same has a hole in the bottom as well (the pocket is made of the same thin, silky material as the lining that has separated from the seam. The material is just too thin to take any pressure on the sewn seams. It separates and tears. This damage is simply from him putting his hands in his pockets. He doesn't carry keys in there and he doesn't play hard in this coat. He simply wears it to and from school. He's very slender and the coat is loose on him so it's not from the coat being too tight. My previous review that this is a well-made coat is wrong. Too bad. This is an otherwise nice coat.(Previous review):Really heavily insulated (Stay Puft Marshmallow man!) and extremely well made. I expected much less volume to the coat for the price. It has been in the upper 20's to mid-30's (Fahrenheit) and my boys have complained the coats are too warm for those temps. Hoods zip off, zippers are heavy duty. Seams are stitched well and the coat seems very sturdy. Not waterproof. The finish to this is like a "peached" microfiber. If it gets wet, it will get saturated. Seems to dry quickly due to the high loft of the batting.There is a thick elastic cuff (made from material similar to a winter hat) hiding up in the sleeves, attached to the lining, similar to what you might find in a snowboarding jacket. The lining it's attached too seems a little on the loose side, so when you are putting on the coat, the elastic cuff and the lining it's attached to poke out of the bottom of the sleeve. Once you get both sleeves on and the elastic is settled where it is supposed to be on the wrists, everything seems to sit and stay where it belongs. At first I was concerned the lining was going to rip or begin to stretch and poke out all the time, but it seems to be just part of the design, meant to keep snow and wind from going up your sleeves. With both arms in the coat, you don't see the elastic cuff at all.Overall a really great coat and I will be looking for this brand again next year.These jackets are great - nice fabric, lookwell made, seem very warm. At this price,a great buy!This is a great winter coat - fit is a little smaller than expected, but great quality!I bought this in an XL 18/20 for my 11 year old brother who had just grown out of his 14/16 from last year and it fits him perfectly. he loves how it feels and says it's really warm. The materials appear to be great quality and there's just a little room for him to grow which is great! He has wide shoulders and is growing like a weed and this fit him very well. The extra sleeve length is a plus. Perfect for the chilly winters he goes through. Definitely recommend!Very warm and can't beat the price. My son loves it.
